  1. Number 3 affected me personally. While I wasn't in Okanogan myself, there were many fires raging all over Washington, Idaho, Montana, Canada, California, and Oregon. The Pacific Northwest was the worst off. For me, it was the Cape Horn Fire in Idaho, which started on July 5th, and lasted for two weeks until it was finally contained. While the Cape Horn Fire was dwarfed compared to the Okanogan Fire, it came dangerously close to the town I live in, Bayview. Seriously, it was just a strong wind-blow away from destroying the town and my home. It came within 600 yards of my home before the firefighters began to get the upper hand. Our air quality got so bad, it even outdid China's bad air quality. I had to wear a mask whenever I went outside. All I can say is: Last summer was basically like Hell came to Earth for everyone in the Northwest.
