Filtering/lane splitting should only be done when necessary and not at speed, IE whe its safe to do so, but lane splitting just because you can and at speed is gonna end in a crash!!!
If traffic is moving at a decent pace, stay in your lane and go with the flow… Ride Smart, Ride Safe, Simple

How many years has lane splitting been legal in California? I would like to know if the data will show this is safer for bikers. Has there been more or less crashes? Of those, more or less fatal, less or more injuries. The state government in CA has probably condemned more bikers to death than they will admit with legal lane splitting. It is government and they do make a lot of things worse.
