Shropshire Firefighters Large Animal Rescue Training

Shropshire Firefighters Large Animal Rescue Training
Spread The Viralist

The Large Animal Rescue Specialist Teams based at Wellington Fire Station, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service train regularly to rescue large animals from all types of scenarios. Their aim is to protect the public from carrying out the dangerous rescues themselves and to give the animal the best possible chance.
Here they are training with Bullseye our dummy horse. In the footage you can see the specialist rescue tender utilising its HiAb which is based at Wellington Fire Station and covers the county of Shropshire, England for all types of incidents.
The teams attend a 4 day course, two of which are at Harper Adams University, Newport, Shropshire working with livestock and understanding animal behaviour. The other 2 days are here at Tong Farm in Shropshire.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service have identified the dangers of animal rescues and with the specialist teams now in place, we can provide the best possible protection for our crews and the public of Shropshire.
The teams are AR2 and AR3 trained.
