I feel like this is one of the forgotten tragedies of the airline industry. I think Americans were so relieved it wasn’t another terrorist attack this accident didn’t get the proper mourning it deserved.🥺🥺😢
The accient was the tail broke off and crash in a house and then they search for it and they found it the tail was broke a little and then they replace it all and they found the broke the b747 did it

I was at Charlotte with my mum. We were waiting to board our second leg to Charleston WV. People were talking about a plane crash. I remember thinking why on Earth would people say such things at an airport.
I was 25 years old. The accident was the bomb on board explosion and hit Lockerbie, Scotland. The worst act of terrorism in aviation history, until 9/11.
To this day, flying is still the safest way to travel.

I remember that; it was right after 9/11 & everyone assumed the worst.
America 587 took off and flew over a neighborhood, but one of the offices decides to mess with controls of the planes tail then the tail flew off and the plan went nose diving and the engine flew off before impact and in total there was 0 survivors and then American 686 was landing and saw saw huge amounts of black smoke rest in pieces to everyone that died
"American 587 heavy new york?" Without realizing, the atc is talking to a plane corpse.
587 crashed because it lost its tail and it’s almost impossible to recover it was like JAL 123 but 123 kept it in the air for 30 mins and they crashed 🙁
