MAURITIUS – Today is a huge food day in Mauritius! Weโre starting early to see the process of cooking biryani, a dish brought from India, but loved in Mauritius – and what I love about biryani is they make it a little different everywhere. Weโll then go to the north of the island to eat a huge beach seafood bbq, and finish with one of the great Mauritian Creole meals on the island.

Hi mark! Very happy you came to my country! The briani guy was so genuine. But the fish resto is so over priced…. we locals dont eat there.. way too expensive.. they do it well and sure the food is good.. but you can get the same thing, even better, else where..

For those saying that the briyani guy has no sanitary there are many places in Mauritius with better sanitation and better place to sit and eat briyani ,I donโt know why the guide guy choose that place

I've been to Mauritius in 1990 and lived in Coin De Mere on the north side of the island but haven't been to the places that Mark visited because I'm guessing that those quaint little back door spots aren't part of the tourist destinations but hey, those are the BEST places to eat with the locals and experience the true flavours of the cuisines and culture. It's amazing. I've been to only the tourist attractions around the island and surroundings and EVERYTHING is postcard perfect in ile Maurice
