Meet Swapan Da, a hardworking and humble paratha seller from Shyamnagar, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
Every morning, Swapan Da starts his day as early as 4:00 AM. He prepares everything by himself—from kneading the flour and making the parathas to cooking the different varieties of curry and egg curry. After hours of preparation, he starts serving fresh, hot and delicious parathas from around 7:00 AM.
His menu includes hot parathas served with different types of curry. On some days, you can enjoy aloo-soya curry, while on other days there may be aloo ghugni or aloo with kabuli chana curry. He also prepares delicious fried onions to accompany the meal.
Each paratha costs just ₹7, making it an affordable and satisfying breakfast for local people and passers-by.
What makes Swapan Da even more special is his dedication and excellent behaviour. He works incredibly hard every day and manages almost every part of his small food business himself.
You can find him in the 26 No. Rail Gate area of Shyamnagar, serving hot parathas to people every morning.
