Literally 2 months ago I went to Six Flags on a ride the restraint wasn't fully on and I'm 13 and small and I knew it wasn't on but they ignored it and the ride was fast and I almost flew off but luckily I have a great grip but I ain't going on anymore roller-coaster in my life I ain't dying for a little speed

23. Similar thing happened to my daughter and I at Six Flags in Gurnee Illinois. We were on the American Eagle. She was quite a bit smaller and the bar did not hold her into place. I had to hold her and as we went down that first giant hill, she was indeed airborne. I was holding her nothing else was her and her children go to Six Flags every year and have now for many years I choose not to.

I used to always go on kings island with my dad, and I remember him telling me about when we went on a roller coaster together there when I was really little and a very overweight person sat next to me and I guess messed up my buckle or harness on accident or something, so he was holding me in the whole time.

    We also would go on the log ride which he would hold me in cuz I was too small and would either slip out of the seatbelt or there wasn't any seatbelt.

38. The Cedar Point "Vertigo" ride incident is amazing considering that vortex shedding had been a known phenomena for nearly a century in 2001 and the solution for it was invented in the 1950's. The helical strake is that spiral lip that is often seen wrapping around tall chimney stacks, bridge pilons, suspension bridge support wires, etc. I breaks up the air movement around the structure and reduces the vibrations transferred into it.
    My question is, what cereal box did the ride's designers get their engineering degree from if they didn't know about this, and is there anyone actually regulating the building of these rides?
    Or is it just a matter of "we'll figure out who to blame after someone dies" type of thing?
    Though I'd bet my left arm that there's a government authority charging a license fee to run these parks.
