Watch Next: How to Throw a Punch in a Fight

Use these 3 techniques to end a street fight against someone bigger than you in seconds, and you don’t need any martial arts experience to pull them off. Tony Jeffries, Olympic medalist boxer is clear that avoiding the fight and getting to safety always comes first but once someone bigger has already forced the moment, these three techniques give you a real way out.

3 Ways To Beat A Bigger Opponent:
Technique 1: The Sneaky Takedown – Put your hands up and create space, then step your dominant foot back to stay balanced no matter what he does next. Telling him you don’t want to fight catches him off guard. Push off your back foot, bend your knees, and drive your shoulder forward with your hands behind his knees. It is almost impossible for him to stay standing and you can get away safely from there.

Technique 2: The Headbutt Escape – Step back slightly with your back foot while staying in range then lean your head back before driving forward using the recoil from your legs. Landing this on the nose creates a genuine shock since nobody expects it right after you’ve said you don’t want to fight. This creates enough of an opening to get away or to follow up with a punch if you know how to throw one.

Technique 3: The Power Punch – This punch alone could end the fight in a single hit and it works even better if he is moving toward you since his own momentum adds to the impact. Turn your hips, fully extend your arm, and drive it straight into the solar plexus or the chin. Setting up in a proper stance first, hands tight and dominant foot back, is what makes this punch actually land with power.

  1. Being an ogre sized man standing at 6'8" and weighing 385, I learned a long time ago that fighting has nothing to do with size or strength. I'm in my 50s now and my size while natural is causing me to breakdown faster than normal. When I was in my early twenties I thought I could destroy anyone in a fight, I learned a valuable lesson in a bar in Chicago. I was at this club which is now long gone and saw a stunning Asian woman who I couldn't help but flirt with. It turns out her boyfriend was their and he was a little skinny Asian man. He was polite and asked me to stop. I didn't answer him, I just picked him up and threw him across the bar. That little dude got up so fast and was back in front of me in seconds. It blew my mind. So we started to fight or I started swinging completely missing every shot while he landed every lightning fast hit on me. Before I knew it, I was on the ground rethinking my delivery. The bouncers broke us up thankfully because he gave me a beating I'll never forget. When they took us outside, the bouncers told me I was banned permanently which I fully accepted and then apologized the the man I disrespected. He was actually really cool but I get why he did what he did. It turned out he was a Aikido/Jiujitsu master. We became friends and I have never looked at someone smaller the same way again. After that and becoming friends with him. I trained with him and learned it was always better to be humble and walk away. I've done that ever since up to this day. I'm not giving his name away as he is a pro fighter at the end of his pro career. He taught me a lot about life and the realities. I hope this inspires some big guys to rethink their situations.

  2. I'm watching as a bigger guy to learn what I should look out for…

Btw, wouldn't shooting a taller dude for a takedown expose the back of your head? Especially since the smaller guy won't have the mass or the running start to instantly drop me on my ass. This isn't MMA, I'm allowed to hammer the back of your neck and head.

  3. Are you mad? Don't double leg or grapple with a significantly bigger man. You'll get grabbed, slammed and ragdolled. Stay the F away from their grip

  4. "Mate, I'm really sorry, there's been a misunderstanding, lets go and I'll buy you a beer and we can sort it out over a drink…." has pretty much worked for me. Most guys don't want to fight, including me, and it's actually the smaller guys who take some time to back down and have a drink.

  5. 5'5 here, a former Royal Marine. I recall commando training teaching these methods. I would add, invest in a punch bag or the model in the video and practice. It will keep your upper body strong.

  6. Funny thing is am 6.3ft tall and am the most calm an friendly person ever and everytime i go out smaller guy give me dirty looks and try to fight me if you are a migget dont start a fight 99% small dudes start the fight because they are jeluss

  7. Too many people are tooled up and many will stick a screwdriver or knife in your chest without a second thought. Life is very cheap for them and they are not scared of going to prison. I've grown up in rough areas, worded in the pub trade, its simpler just not to put yourself in that position in the first place. Don't go out at the weekends any more too many DH's avoid scum and confrontation where ever possible.

  8. 1:13. Top notch special effects. At first I was like "HOLY SHIT!" then I realized that Bob hadn't entered the robot rebellion and that it was all advanced trickery! Hope you have budget left for more vids this month because I appreciate them a lot.

  9. I fear no man as I'm a black belt in Super Karate – like Karate but on steroids. Am also a black belt in Brazilian krav maga – like krav maga but Brazilian.

  10. Before even watching, want the one shot. Easy, solid throat strike. If you need to work him first start low, groin kidneys, then throat. If you can't breath you can't fight. Just keep in mind it better be serious because you could kill someone with a throat strike.

  11. I am a strong believer in striking the solar plexus. I did once, just out of reflex, with a guy who threw a sucker punch, and I was amazed at how he dropped as if I had shot him with a gun, unlike hitting a man in the face and having him shake it off with little effect and fight starts for real!

  12. Next the video for tall guys on how to beat the little guys built like a pitbull full of short man rage. I'm twice as worried about that than someone my own size or bigger lol

  13. My favorite move when confronted is to lift the shirt on my right side, place my hand on what is hidden there and state that I won't bother throwing any punches if threatened further.
