Operation Safed Sagar: Ajay Ahuja’s True Story
Spread The Viralist

Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja was one of the courageous Indian Air Force pilots who served during the 1999 Kargil War and Operation Safed Sagar.

Ahuja was commissioned as an IAF fighter pilot in 1985 and later became Flight Commander of No. 17 Squadron, the Golden Arrows. On May 27, 1999, after Flight Lieutenant K. Nachiketa was forced to eject from his MiG-27 near Muntho Dhalo, Ahuja continued searching for his fellow pilot despite the threat of surface-to-air missiles. He successfully passed crucial location information before his own aircraft was hit and he was forced to eject.

Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja was posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra for his exceptional courage, professionalism and supreme sacrifice.

This is the true story of an Indian Air Force hero whose bravery during the Kargil War continues to be remembered through Operation Safed Sagar.
