Where the Missouri meets the Mississippi….should be the eighth wonder of the world
Woke BS
@12:27 why did yall edit the wood duck making a mallard hen sound? 😂 aren’t documentaries supposed to be for natural accuracy?
Wildlife shows you the repercussions of evasive species, humans should take note but we're responsible for both
So much life depending on one river… absolutely incredible.

What woman wrote those jokes into the script?!
Maybe make the duck nest little bit closer to the water to help the little ones
I have sat beside the Mississippi River many times just watching it but no amount of money would entice me to stick one toe in it.
When I got out of the Navy in 79 I was hired off the Lock Wall at Lock and Dam 18 on the Upper Mississippi. I continued for 10 years on all Inland waterways that you can think about. Arkansas River is one of the most beautiful rivers, Missouri River is one of the most dangerous in high water coming south. Illinois at that time was probably the dirtiest, Ohio also a beautiful river can be dangerous, and the Tennessee River some of the nicest people I've ever met. I could go on, but working on Line Boats was the best job I could ever have. I will say it's a young man's game out there, and I always hoped that the Deckhands that came after me appreciated the beauty of the Mississippi and its tributaries. Thanks Brian

The Mississippi is a true testament to the power of nature. It’s fascinating to see such a diverse ecosystem deconstructed with this level of detail!

Grew up north of Minneapolis. Where the Mississippi starts.
Este ecosistema muestra cómo las estaciones moldean las estrategias de supervivencia. En invierno, la reducción de actividad y el ahorro de energía son clave, mientras que en primavera se activan los ciclos reproductivos de muchas especies.
😊❤
The Mississippi River ecosystem is a great example of how survival depends on timing and environment .Like otters breaking ice or alligators timing their nesting
We use to trot line the Mississippi we've pulled catfish out of there that were big enough to fill a pickup, I've talked to divers they seen catfish as big as a Volkswagen in there. This was a little south of st.louis.

22:24 while this selective editing sequence looks cool, these specific carp are an invasive species that causes severe damage to the waterways it gets into. They eat all the vegetation that supports the bottom of the food chain and cause shoreline erosion.
I love this! Thank you!
I grew up in a small town on the river in south Louisiana, Norco, with the Bonnet Carre Spillway in my backyard!!!
21:12 are they fishing for fish that are jumping in the boat 😂🤣
Really loved the segment on snapping turtles and they were just all in small ponds and lakes. Not the Mississippi. Great job Nat Geo👍🏻
Love 💞💖
This "America's Wild Frontier", not "America the Beautiful". Just sayin' 0:51
What bothers me the most about the Asian Carp is that you are supposed to kill them on sight, and so many stupid people keep just throwing them back, which is only making the problem they cause worse.
…..no words for the beauty of things.

Spring floods may threaten nests, but life always finds a way. Resilience in every ripple of the Mississippi!
This documentary really reminded me how powerful and alive river ecosystems are, especially in a place like the Mississippi where so many forces come together. I was honestly on edge watching those baby wood ducks make that terrifying leap and then struggle toward the water—it’s hard not to root for them like they’re your own pets. As someone who loves animals, seeing both the beauty and the danger they face right from birth really hit me emotionally. The way the mother fox was trying to care for her pups despite her condition was another moment that stuck with me. Nature isn’t easy, but there’s something incredibly moving about how resilient these animals are. It makes me wonder how many of these small, unseen struggles are happening around us every day. Did anyone else feel like the ducklings’ journey was one of the most intense parts?
