A juvenile Australian Cattle Dog pup carries a full-sized leather boot across a rural paddock to satisfy its instinctual drive for object retrieval.
Working breeds possess an innate motivation to perform tasks, often redirecting their herding and gathering energy toward household items. This behavior simulates the movement of livestock and reinforces the bond with the human pack leader through the presentation of “looted” assets. The pup’s persistence in navigating the bulky shoe shows the early development of the physical coordination required for future ranch operations.

Border Collies are the same way. If you want one, you really need a herd, or at least a flock.
Like a Crow I bet he feels the need to bring the pack something to justify his worth. You're otherwise a freeloader, right?
This is too funny cuz I have a cat that steals the kids toys from next door
Who needs one shoe ??????
SIDNEY IS SO MUCH MORE THAN I DESERVE 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
MY CATTLE DOG HAS BEEN HELPING HIS HUMAN RECUPERAT W FROM SIMULTANEOUS STROKES. HONESTLY… NO TRAING. SAVED ME FROM FAULTY ELECTRIC HENCE THE SMOKE.
We had a Cattle Dog mix, Capricious Amour who has been over the Rainbow Bridge now for many years. She’d try to herd us as we were coming and going, just getting dressed suddenly involved, more jumping up and down as she wrapped around me. Eventually, we learned our routine, and each other‘s roles. And somehow I stayed upright throughout the process. 😝🐾❤🩷
The nipping!😂
I have a baby Mal that does this. She jumps up on a freezer in the garage and brings me stolen shit that belongs to me, so she can resell my own shit back to me for treats. That’s 100% profit for her. She brings me all the ball pit balls and whiffle balls from the neighbor kids chucking them over my fence. I put all this stuff in a Home Depot bucket. She brings me rocks from around my house foundation, too. We have a rock bucket, now….😂
My shoe!! That dog got MY shoe!
We had a bluey that convinced my 2 year old brother to open the back gate and let it out. Apparently, he couldn't stand the idea of the dog going out alone, so he followed it out, and the gate shut behind them.
About half an hour later, my mum asks me "where's your brother?" I check the back yard. His room. Loungeroom. Backyard again… Then dad notices the gate is unlatched just as a neighbour knocks on it to tell us that my brother and the dog have done 3 laps of the block, with a couple of local kids following for safety. Every time my brother went near the road, the dog would drag him back by his bum.
Every time the dog went near the road, my brother dragged it back by its tail.
Dad put a padlock on that gate.
I now know what happened to my croc
A single dog who works two jobs
My Blue Heerler was named Booger and that dog was legendary in the small town of Sandia, Texas. No training needed to work cattle, he would uproot weeds in the yard by digging around the base a little never a big hole then he would pluck it out the ground. He would jump up grab on a tree limb hang in the air gnawing and sawing until he could twist his head and snap it. Then a coyote showed up and caused a lot of problems and a lot of animals were put down Booger one of them, we killed the rabid coyote but the dogs got to him before we knew anything. The had a Red Heeler my sister had brought around and I didn't care for her at all, it would run a quarter mile to chase a car trying to bite the wheels she actually had her bottom lip I assume ran over.
So true they have to have a job to do or they ate not happy!
My German shepherd brought over a large box with a black 🍆 vibrator picture on it. The box itself was huge an had xl on it . At that time i only had one neighbor a Mexican couple . I couldn't look at either of them the same.
Blue heelers are some of the best dogs you can own, as long as you have the space, patience and energy for them.
On Saipan it's different. The stray AKA "Boony dogs" steal your shoes as a form of friendship, since you feed them. Granted why management says don't feed the dogs. Lol. But it was too late for my Lil ole slipper. And they only take one.
Just last week here in Caboolture QLD, I saw a sign writer exchanging an old sign for a new one 9:30PM whilst I was getting Chinese takeaway at Belygod (Chinese Restaurant) on King St. It's true about Australians…9:30PM would believe it 😊
I used to weekly walk my neighborhood with shoes that had been proudly gifted to me. 😅
Blue cattle dog.
Those are some of the best dogs a person could have.
