2. @2:17. they're true Floridians and are used to lightning. It's like Nebraska where everyone runs outside with their camera whenever a Tornado Siren goes off.
   @2:47, "any closer and those horses would've been goners." I assure you, five seconds after that strike, those horses were very GONE, and over the fence, and on their way to Yorkshire.

5. Please, just start the clip a few seconds before the actual strike and not the 5 minutes leading up to it. You turned a 5 minute video into almost 15 minutes. Or not, just a suggestion.

6. I had a lightning bolt take out a transformer on a pole across the street from me about 30 years ago. Sounded like an explosion. I was closing down the till in the front of the store, and nearly jumped out of my skin.

8. this video is really fascinating and well put together! i can't believe how powerful lightning can be. but honestly, i feel like some of these clips were a bit sensationalized. like, were they really necessary to show the most extreme moments? it makes me question if it's more for shock value than for education. what do you all think?

10. OK believe it or not I was in a open bay dorm in south Florida and lightning stuck continuously outside the windows of the dorm 10 to 30 foot away from the windows and nowhere else. I've never heard or seen this before. There were about 50 people on each side. Someone please confirm witnesses only

17. The horses that nearly got fried wouldn't have been the first animals to go that way. I haven't heard it recently, but quite often, we used to get news stories about cattle being killed by lightning during storms. Most oftentimes, the unfortunate animals had gathered round a tree to escape from the rain, and the tree itself was then struck. All the cattle under the tree then received the jolt, and were killed. As I said, you don't hear about it so much these days, but then, I think farmers got wise to the danger, and cut down trees that were standing in the middle of fields. Their cattle then had to just endure the rain, or else, shelters were put up that were low and didn't attract lightning.
    And then, of course, there are all those football (soccer) players who were out on the pitch when lightning struck it…

20. I do not wanna seem like a victim but i get a kind of PTSD from storms bcs when i was younger a lightning struck our neighbhoors and their TV exploded. Now everytime there is a thunderstorm i start to panic as much as getting to a point of crying. I feel like a fool well knowing its so rare to get hit or to something happen but im just really scared.

21. My sister and I had lightning strike about 20 ft. in front of us during a rainstorm. It was loud. I live in the farthest west corner of Texas. I'm used to that. Also, lots of dust devils here. I've never seen a tornado here. I heard there was one here somewhere last September,2023.

22. ive not been so close to lightning strike but i probably heared it in sleep in my dream: as i walked on the grass i looked up i saw lightning strike in clouds and 2 seconds later i listened to the sound and i covered my ears so i cant hear it so loud

25. I have been in a car that a lightning ball hit in front of. Not fun at all.
    I have seen this type of lightning three other times, fortunately not so close.

26. When i was 9 years old. It was thunderstorming. I was looking at the lightning. When all of the sudden. A lightning strike hit the rode in front of us! but instead of being scared. I laughed.

On the subject of Lightning We live in Bradenton Florida and when we were teenagers 40 + yrs many many many full moons ago my younger brother was lake fishing and a bolt of lightning hit the lake the Bolt traveled through the water went up into his Grafite rod and he got ZAPPED – Actually have it on video – It picked him up out of his sneakers and threw him back 30 + yrds and he smacked a tree – He lived and actually was able to sue the rod company for it not being grounded and was able to transfer the electricity into my brother. Only thing was his left leg got burnt pretty bad to where they had to do skin grafting……
