I am Japanese, and ever since hearing them perform in Japan in 1980, the focus of my musical appreciation has been on the Harnoncourt couple and Concentus Musicus.
Their performances of Bruckner's Symphony No. 5 with the Vienna Philharmonic and Mozart's Requiem with Concentus Musicus during their 2006 Japan tour are treasures of my life.
And I listen almost daily to the CD of Telemann's Darmstadt Overtures, which I first heard during their 1980 Japan tour.
Listening to the short solo passages of Alice and Nikolaus in the C major suite vividly brings back memories of that 1980 concert.
