  1. Absolute insanity. Hiking with young children in bear country without a heavy calibre gun of some kind. And the father couldn't do much anyway, with the kid on his back. Some people just either don't have a functioning brain, or they are living in some kind of animal wonderland . .

  2. Why are you taking your shoes off. I run faster with no shoes on. You can’t outrun that bear. I don’t have to outrun the bear. I just have to outrun you.

  3. That's a Black Bear, and he isn't going to do a damn thing with two adults near the children. They are opportunists, they generally don't go after food they have to fight for.

It likely became interested in the kid, and is stalking to see if the kid breaks away from the parents. Not really a comforting thought, but they were really in no danger.

  4. These people are crazy going into Bear country mountain lion country with children. No firearm, no bear spray. Beyond stupid

  5. It's always the dumb city folk that go into the wilderness unarmed. Like what the fuck you got you're whole family out there baby's and all and you ain't got no rifle or pistol!? That's fuckin wild man.

  7. They’re walking through the bears territory. When you’re in grizzly country, you should carry bear spray, but a big bear charging at you,it may blow right through the spray. That’s why you also carry a large side arm. If you’re going to hike in bear country,be alert and safe.. I hope this family was ok

  8. At least it's not a mountain lion. I live in Oklahoma City and we have full grown mountain lions roaming around inside city limits. They stay on the fringe where there are more neighborhoods where each house is on a few acres and there are ponds and creeks nearby, but they're inside city limits…and not far at all from densely populated areas.
