WATCH: Dangerous dust storm rolls through Phoenix, AZ

A monsoon storm is rolling through the Phoenix, AZ area. The storm is bringing a major dust storm, heavy rain and wind.

Coverage from FOX 10 Phoenix show the speed and strength of the haboob.

Footage from the helicopter shows the incredible wall of dust moving through the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Showers and thunderstorms hit the Valley starting around 5 p.m. local time. Scattered rain will last through the late evening, before we will dry out overnight.

  1. Geezus they call that reduced visibility! Where I come from if the fog was only that thick we'd pack up the youngsters and go camping! Never mind the 2000 pound bull moose that might jump out in front of ya!

  3. it's funny watching people pulled over and not doing it right. pull over TURN OFF lights and foot OFF the brake… so someone doesnt' come and plow into back of you

This looks like the 30’s and 40’s be for we started planting trees and grass across the country but now we are taking all of the water from as far as Canada and east to Colorado and channeling all of that water down by LA to dump into the ocean to save some Chinese shrimp and bait fish that aren’t native to America. We should all be so proud to help out these fresh water fish trying to live in the ocean off the coast of California. And a lot of the trees were cut down to burn as bio mass to make electricity but green trees and brush don’t burn hot enough thankfully they added ground up tires to get enough heat to run the generators šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

  5. Back in the 60's this was an every summer occurrence! Just back then it was way worse. Today there's a lot more houses and a lot less fields. We'd get around 2 or 3 each summer.

  7. In the early 90s I was fishing in Scottsdale stock lake lake chaperel a wall dust storm with a Plato on top taller than the sun was came through took out the sun no rain just wind. When I was in the dessert iraq a dust storm came absolutely insane 3-4 days long then a locust plague came for a week you could see like a dust storm from locust plague the dead body’s stacked up foot two feet in the corners of the c wire fencing insane biblical.

  8. Oregon, in 2020 our sky's turned orange, claimed it was a fire, but in 60yrs of field burning never seen search a site.
    …it looked like end of world for a week. I've got pictures
