It just makes me sad. People like him don’t care about the good of our overall society.
I think I’ve seen videos of people who actually want to be helpful with section 8, but I don’t know what to search to find them again. They pulled up similar pages of what section 8 pays out vs the mortgage payment, but then said things like, okay split that difference over a year and that’s the minimum you should invest into the property before you rent it. He would also go to the habitat restore but with the idea being he couldn’t way better quality stuff for a good price. And he said nothing about adding amenity charges. Has anyone else seen this? Did my brain invent it trying to see something other than the evil version???
0:50 that's so cruel because I got KICKED OUT of section 8 in my sophomore year of high school. Apparently the "rent was always late" (because my mom didnt get her cash aid until after the rent was due) and even tho she HAD to let us pay it with the late fee she just didnt want to. Told us we had a week to get out. I'll never forgive the team and the section 8 area i was in.

Yeah, there really needs to be a housing authority in Section 8 that investigates landlords and have the government seize their properties when they’re doing $hit like this.
I hate the mentality of "if you're low income, you can just get things from the government" – it doesn't factor in the time it takes to apply for all of those things and the stress around not having what you need to live.
Being this flagrantly evil so publicly in the age of Luigi is certainly a choice.

housing attorney here who defends tenants that have Section 8 Vouchers – This happens waaaaaay more than the average person would think. Section 8 landlords are normally THE WORST becuase they know their tenants cannot easily move even if they are approved to move by the housing authority. They get away with violating federal regulations/the contract they sign with the local housing authority becuase no one is checking up on them. IF YOUR SECITON 8 LANDLORD IS NOT MAKING REPAIRS/CHARING FEES FOR THINGS LIKE CEILING FANS(?????)/DEMANDING MORE MONEY THAN YOUR PORTION OF THE RENT (not including utilities) TELL YOUR CASEWORKER AND REACH OUT TO YOUR LOCAL LEGAL AID PROVIDER!!!!!

I definitely think most of his "luxury fees" are rage bait. I have a hard time buying him getting away with charging for ceiling fans, dishwashers…etc. I don't live in section 8 but I did live in an apartment where they upgraded my bathroom and added a washer/dryer to stay in compliance with their company and the state. So charging extra for things like that in section 8 sounds like a liability suit waiting to happen.

Before I even watch this video, as someone currently living in a not so great situation with a landlord who basic does nothing to fix issues, this video is probably going to hit home.
Our landlord asks a large amount of money for a place that is in dire need of renovations and repairs. There are so many issues we weren’t told about before spending a lot of money to even move here and we don’t have a lot of options to move anywhere else.
It literally feels like being taken advantage of but you have no way out. You can’t get upset at the landlord either because you need to maintain a “positive relationship”, so you just have to take all his excuses as to why he won’t be doing basic repairs with a smile. Every time he does show up for anything, he also always shows up an hour or an hour and a half later than agreed. We can arrange that he will come at 2 to fix something and he will come over at almost 4, just to tell us he didn’t bring the right tools to do it. A few months later and things are still the same.
You just have to smile and politely press him a bit on when he can do it and he will just be wishy washy. He has told us that if we don’t like the place, there will be plenty of others who would be glad to live here, which I know is true due to the shortage of rentals or affordable homes.
Just here to up your engagement. I watched about one minute and I could feel my blood pressure rising, so I'm going to have to skip this one. But, I hope this gets in front of a lot of people who can stomach it.

Guys like this really deserve a "blanket party," preferably while inside one of his broke ass properties with no heat. The blanket, of course, is to keep him warm during the event since the heat doesn't work.
Think this dude is evil? John Oliver did a show on the real estate predators that showed some guy teaching a class on how to force the elderly from their mobile homes. Buy the park, raise the rent to where they cant afford it. Trailers are hard to sell, too expensive to move and most elderly on their fixed income have to simply abandone the home. Its beyond despicable and COMPLETELY LEGAL.
