  1. I wouldn't risk it. I've personally seen two separate instances of pits hurting little kids. One was extremely bad. Not saying it was the dogs fault. But I don't think there's a zero percent chance of something like that happening. I ain't takin any chances with my kids safety.

  2. My Pitbull loved kids. Her favorite time of the year was Halloween! She would sit at the front door wagging her tail so hard I thought it was going to fall off.

  3. It doesn’t matter what kind of dog, babies should never be left along with dogs, ever. No matter how “protective” or loving they may seem. There are thousands of stories of dogs who showed no prior problem, and suddenly snapped. Yes you love your dog, but you love your baby even more, and you don’t take risks with your baby.

  4. Makes me so nervous tbh. Laying your little angel baby with a wild animal is just nerve wracking. Not saying it can’t work. I grew up with dogs. But this does make me nervous when I watch videos of it.

  5. people still believe the "nanny dog" myth it's crazy.. these dogs were bred to fight, not guard children. most of the time in history people kept dogs outside the house anyway, nowhere near a crib.

  6. I had a pittie named Harry, who passed away last year, he was about 13. I'd had him for 12 years and he was the sweetest, most gentle kids dog. He loved my nephews and niece like they were his own, when my niece was born, he'd lay his head in her lap and she'd pull his ears and he would act like it was the most fun thing ever. I miss him so much!

  7. My mom loves to tell this story: When we got my first dog. A black lab named Nikki, I was about 3 years old. My grandpa took us all to a breeder and my car seat was in the back seat. Nikki ran out the door and jumped into the car and started licking me. Since then she’s passed (I think I was about 13 when she passed) but it’s almost like even as a puppy she knew she and I would be best friends. And we were. And every single dog we’ve gotten since getting her has been from that same breeder. Same bloodline and everything. And the other 2 that we have had since her passing all have the exact same personality as her. Unconditional love and lots of laughs. It truly amazes me how smart and caring animals can be with tiny humans
