He passed away in 2001. That was the last time I went camping. This happened along the West Penn trail in western Pa

You know, something I've wondered when hearing these stories about people losing their friends to cryptids while camping/hunting: What happens when you guys have to tell your fallen friends' parents about their death? I'd imagine they'd have questions at the very least. Not to mention, even if cops couldn't necessarily do anything about a cryptid killing your friend, but after notifying the parents of the deceased the cops would certainly be involved in their death investigation. None of these stories I've heard have ever mentioned this part of the whole ordeal.
