Horse Shelter Heroes S5E4 – The Saddest Goodbyes

Horse Shelter Heroes S5E4 - The Saddest Goodbyes
Spread The Viralist

The team is back after a week of snow and ice and ready to take on anything thrown at them. In this episode, our two new vets, Dr. Lydia and Dr. Gina, take action as they intake and assess some buy-out horses who came to our shelter a week early. Emily takes care of some puppies with a nasty case of roundworms. All this and more in this week’s episode of Horse Shelter Heroes!

  1. I love Dr Lydia !! She’s so knowledgeable and tries to explain what’s wrong and she also cares about the horses so much !! They are so lucky to have her !!! I sincerely hope she’s compensated appropriately and doesn’t take advantage of her !! She’s just so- good !!!! ❤️🐴❤️

  2. I support you and your work. I love the horses. I am finding it harder and harder to watch your videos though as I already care and I already empathize…I dont need to feel worse. Its the prompts. These emotional prompts. Im just making the comment that personally I think it can be too much. If people are struggling to get past your prompts already knowing how brutal the situation for these wonderful animals can be…that you could rein that in a bit.

  3. Welcome Dr Gina! Hopefully all the viewers treat you kind and with respect. Excited to see all the good you all can do as a team in the future for the animals!

  4. Dr. Lydia is so matter-of-fact she must’ve become hard and with this job that she’s in she’d have to be to just talk so casually about these things and I don’t I don’t mean that putting her down I just mean it must harden you seeing all the stuff that she sees

  5. Hey guys thank you for making the right decision. For those two mares. RIP girls. Let God bring you guys to fields to run free of pain. All my 💗❤️🤗💖 to all.

  6. To the Vets….Thank You for relieving all those horses that needed the last act of kindness. ALSO thank you for continuing to remind EVERYONE that these horses are in tremendous pain…it’s important for all to be reminded of the pain the horses are feeling. At some point can Tawnee or Dr Lydia inform (briefly) what the procedure of the euthanasia (NOT EVERY TINY PART!) involves. You use to give grain and show a lot of LOVE and stay with the horse as he/she is crossing over….that is very important to know it’s still being done like that. Now if you don’t do that……..I don’t want to know. Someone being with the horse being euthanized is very important. (That’s the difference between compassion and “I don’t care, let’s get this over with”! ) Thanks you guys.

  7. Im so glad to see both Dr Lydia and Dr Gina. Its like they always been at HPHS. Grateful that you could help four to a greener pasture whitout pain. Its amaze me howe humans can treat horses and other animals this way. Glad you are there for them.

  8. Thank you so much for the incredible work you do. The fact you love and care for all these animals no matter their circumstances and how long they are in your care is just incredible. ❤️

  9. MAN’S “LAWS” ARE INEPT AND BROCKEN…ADD PEOPLE WHO’S OUTLOOK IS ALL ABOUT MONEY WITHOUT FEELING FOR THOSE
    (animal or human) SUFFERING,
WHO REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO ACT IN BEHALF OF…
    (Caregiver;Shepard;Guardian;Keeper;
    Actively Manage;)
IS IDENTIFIED AS NEGLIGENT & UN CARING, UNFEELING, AND SELFISH,
    etc…all the above!!!
As a young teenager I frequently RESCUED horses in my neighborhood
Sneaked (my previously owned horse) now malnourished horse, down to my house where I gave him needed attention—While his “OWNERS” were away on vacation…and returned him to his corral.
I DID MY OWN FORM OF RESCUING FOR A GREAT MAJORITY OF MY ADULTHOOD—.
***YOUR EFFORTS ARE TO BE COMMENDED!!! WHEN UNIFIED AS A GROUP, THE UP’S N’ DOWNS ARE MORE MANAGEABLE BY INNER SUPPORT (vs the individual effort).
    DON’T STOP DOING WHAT IS
“MERCY IN ACTION”! DOMESTIC ANIMALS PAY A HIGH PRICE FOR MAN’S NEGLIGENCE, IGNORANCE,
GREED, STUPIDITY, POOR JUDGEMENT AND JUST PLAIN WICKEDNESS!!! WE ARE ALL IMPERFECT AND FALLIBLE EVEN WITH GOOD INTENTIONS—
    THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU
    ALL ARE TAKING PART IN…
    HUMAN-ITARIANISM

  10. Fiesta is beautiful! Shame on those people making money on the DSLD horse they should have been spending money to give her the last act of kindness. God is watching. Thankyou everyone at HPHS and your supporters.
