Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Karachi, the capital of the Pakistani province of Sindh, causing widespread flooding and submerging major roads. The city’s residents are grappling with the aftermath as 700 power pylons collapsed during the downpour, plunging several neighborhoods into darkness. Dramatic footage circulating online captures submerged cars stranded on waterlogged streets. In response, Karachi’s Rescue Service issued a statement urging citizens to stay indoors. The city is now grappling with the challenges of both natural disaster aftermath and logistical hurdles in rescue efforts.
