1. Maybe fdot can divert a small amount of money from all of the pointless highway expansions to grade separating this corridor. But no, of course, because investing in transportation is supposedly communism now.

3. Very sad. And yes for all involved. A stupid decision is never deserving of being killed or having your passenger killed…and train operator traumatized. It affects law enforcement, EMT’s, and doctors (yes even pathologists seeing senseless death).

   When we lose our empathy we lose our humanity.

21. Why is it the railroad's responsibility to add additional barriers. The people responsible for that are Florida Dept. of Transportation and county (and or city) transportation department. Brightline should sue the car owners (and insurance) for cost of damage to their trains.

This title is misleading because my first thought when I read it was that it's related to problems with Brightline when in reality, it's related to idiot drivers who are too impatient to wait for a train to pass. No one on the train was hurt. No sympathy for drivers who make an incredibly stupid and deliberate decision that they paid for with their life.

27. Almost seen someone get hit over here like 4 weeks ago, NS train runnin 68 when they came 10 feet from hitting a sadan, driver made it past with literal not even a second to spar, i dont see why you would risk it, i mesn you sit at a traffic light longer

30. The crazy thing is that it doesn't seem like either of the cars were even close to clearing the train. 2 suicides in 2 days should be the headline.

32. Brightline should automatically get a $100,000 award from the estate of each perpetrator to help repair and repaint trains and gates each time someone unalives themselves using the train. Its stupid beyond measure to go around the gates, but if you are going to do so LOOK BOTH WAYS BEFORE sticking you head in a meat grinder! In both cases these trains were not hundreds of yards away, they were right there; heck in one of them the train was already crossing the road before the guy hit it!

    Plus these are fast trains, the gates are only going to be down for 30 seconds. Whats the point?
