Hope For Paws was contacted by L.A. on Cloud 9, an organization that helps homeless people. The homeless man in the tent (he didn’t want to be filmed) fed the dog, asked them for help, and they knew to call us. (They are the same organization that called us about Jordan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zy97RgzxhJg – I’m sure 90% of you remember his horrifying story).

Loreta Frankonyte and I headed out to the bridge over the 110 freeway – one of the busiest and noisiest freeways in Los Angeles. We feared he would bolt, so we surrounded him with our plastic fencing and got him into the Hope For Paws rescue vehicle.

Before telling you the rest of the story, I wanted to ask you to join our matching campaign where every dollar you donate will be DOUBLED: https://www.HopeForPaws.org/campaigns/holiday – by becoming a Hope For Paws team member, you’ll be a part of each one of these rescues.

One weird/funny thing that happened during the rescue (it was removed in the editing) is that a man approached us and asked to buy drugs from us. I don’t know what about our look gave him the feeling that we’re the people to ask. 😄 (Was it the color of Loreta’s shirt? Is that even a thing?) 😅

When I have a free minute, I’ll chop it and share it on our Instagram account:

(Join us now – maybe you’ll be follower number 400,000, we’re almost there!!!).

Anyway, little Shrimp was shell-shocked from his experience. He didn’t like being touched, and he wouldn’t let us shave parts of his matted coat, so the doctor at CARES had to mildly sedate him.

Our friends at S.A.F.E. Rescue Team offered to foster him. It’s important for me to acknowledge the incredible work of his fosters – it took a couple of months for him to transform from a shell-shocked sad dog, to a happy, playful doggie: https://SafeRescueTeam.org

Happy New Year to all of you animal lovers!

MAKE SURE to be back on December 31st for the last video of 2023 💖

  1. C'était certainement le chien d'un sans-abri. C'est tellement précieux pour ces personnes , leur compagnon. Si il y avait un sans- abri, j'espère que des gens l'ont aidé.

  2. Thank you to the human that fed Shrimp. THANK you guys for saving him and showing him what care and love looks like. And all the much needed medical attention. Someone in SoCal please adopt this sweet dog!! He's so stinking cute!!!! Kudos to the absolutely amazing foster family!!

  3. So heartwarming, that someone was feeding him, & had a bed for him. I feel bad, but I cracked-up at the 4:15 mark…He looked like he was really enjoying that spa treatment.
