Giant waves hit the California coast on Thursday, causing severe headaches, closing beaches and knocking over several people watching the unusual seaside show.
Waves as high as 30 feet hit beaches across the state, prompting harsh warnings, such as one from the National Weather Service’s Bay Area division : “The ocean is NOT your friend today!”
