Ancient ghost stories, like many folk tales and fables, are amalgamations of history and legend meant to entertain as well as educate, imparting cultural beliefs and practices or lessons in morality – especially when it comes to the importance of proper burial and honoring of the dead.
The stories in this collection have been edited (and enhanced) from translations of ancient texts – found on clay tablets and pottery and in essays and letters on paper – ranging from around 1800 BCE Mesopotamia to the Greeks and Romans of 100 CE. There are links below for further reading.

My passion is ancient history including stories told within those times & of philosophical
Debates laid out in story form .
There have been some incredible tales from different time periods that wouldnt seem out of place in a modern anthology of ghosts, hauntings & apparitions!
Id not heard any of the stories you read in this video but each one was very enjoyable & reactions by the living regarding
The actions of the departed are very much as todays tales of hauntings & research into the past & the rectification of laying the ghosts to rest.
It seems absurd to neglect the actuality of restless spirits with the evidence of Ancient cultures
Recollections of the afterlife which are very much unchanged
Through the millenia.
It also reminds us, to take care how we live our lives & try to be as caring & concerned as we would expect others to be of us.
Im not religious per se, but see truth in every religion & therefore could never commit to just one.
All have a Golden thread of truth within them.
I only know the quote;
You shall reap what you sow
To be a good plan & while we all know the difference between good & bad, in thought or deed
Our inner being needs to follow with honesty what we perceive to be right & proper.
