  1. Wonder if Balu would interact with Lily and Liberty. Considering that he knows how to communicate with his former brother lion&tiger, would he mind being able to at least talk to them. At least maybe put them near each other and see their reaction.

  2. There was an experiment done with rats.

They kept a few rats individually housed and put heroin in their water. The rats eventually became addicted to the heroin-water.

They took other groups of rats and surrounded them with other rats – families and so on. The rats in this group tried the heroin-water once and never drank it again.

Having friends/family is a must for animals to live healthy lives. There is no other way. And a lack of that leads to drug addiction, mental deterioration, etc. Not just humans.

  3. when you breed from a genetic "pool" that is known for abandoning their young that animal shouldnt be in a breeding program , you are just workin against "natural selection" , and thats a "war" that you cant win , no matter how good your intentions are

  4. Friend of our family in Zimbabwe had a pet Cheetah that had been abandoned by its mother. It was super friendly and got on well with the dogs… It absolutely demanded belly rubs and would bring its favourite brush and stare at you menacingly until you brushed it for a solid 15 minutes…
I remember it being responsible for looking after the chickens because hyenas would often get in and ransack the coops and eat the eggs.
its reward was a big fat chicken a day to keep its belly full.

  5. Other cats like Leopard's can form bonds with dogs, too, just as house cats can. The concern is size difference, it's not a good idea to pair up a dog with a Lion or Tiger for instance.

  6. I saw something like this at the San Diego zoo. A Cheetah and a large dog were best buddies and I watched them play, however the dog has since died and the Cheetah is now very old.
