Warning Shots Stop Deadly Shark Encounter – Caught on Camera

Spread The Viralist

On a seemingly routine day aboard USCG Kimball, anchored in Hawaii’s waters in August 2020, the hardworking crew decided it was high time for some R&R.

The horizon was clear, the sun shining bright, perfect for a refreshing Swim Call, a time-honored naval tradition. As they joyously plunged into the vast expanse of the Pacific, their carefree swim quickly took a harrowing turn, and it was all caught on camera.

Suddenly, bullets pierced the tranquil waters, urgently fired from the ship, as a lurking shark made a beeline towards the unsuspecting swimmers. The footage, now viral on social media, catches a voice from the Flight Deck exclaiming [QUOTE]:

“It’s heading for the bow!”

  1. On the show Mythbusters they proved the larger the caliber of bullet and the bullets speed breaks it apart within inches of entering the water so there was no chance of hitting the shark unless he was right on the surface when the gun discharged.

  2. This shows why the US Navy is a paper tiger……..they won't even shoot a clear threat to their safety when it is IMMINENT & CLEAR. (sigh)…pathetic!

  3. The sad thing that people don’t know is that the splashing noise makes sharks come like a dinner bell. fisherman throw dead fish over so sharks know it’s dinner time when a boat shows up.

  4. I was nose to nose with an Oceanic White Tip shark while snorkeling in the deep water outside Nassau. Got some great close up photos as I had my camera with me. Myself and the 4 other swimmers made a somewhat concentrated effort to get back onboard our boat. Thankfully he was just curious and not out for a meal.

  5. IF YOU JUMP INTO THE SEA – YOU ARE THE UNINVITED GUEST – NOT A SHARK. You and your ten trillion ton ship spewing fumes and garbage and noise and then you get scared when someone with balls (or the equivalent of shark balls – do sharks have balls?) actually confronts you about it? The most powerful military power on the planet.. I bet he had a really good laugh with his buddies at the cowardice. 🤣🖕🖕🖕

  6. IT WAS HAWAII for god sake!!! There were more open water swimmers and divers in the Hawaiian waters (with sharks all over the place) than there were sailors on that boat. Either the sailors in the water had watched Jaws too many times or the Navy lawyers are afraid of the families. If that shark was going to hit somebody you never would have seen him. I know people who swim 2 or 3 miles a day, a quarter mile offshore Oahu and have done so for years. Even ex-president Obama swims off of Kailua. These were sailors…right?

  7. We only stopped twice for swim call on WESTPAC 82, but both times we'd have 2 or 3 sharks orbiting the group. No one thought anything of it, godForbid you admitted being concerned. I guess young and stupid has its benefits

  8. Only a complete dumb ass would swim in the pacific waters and not think there would be a risk of being attacked by a shark. If it’s a absolute need to be in the oceans water fine. Otherwise that’s why there are things known as pools. Just plain stupid
