If they want to save those houses they need to add multiple horizontal poles into the ground to stitch it and keep it from moving freely.
"Unfair"? No. It's Mother Nature just rolling on. 1000 years ago, those cliffs were a mile further West. And 1000 years from now Pacifica won't even be a memory.

The greedy developers should be held responsible, although the guiltiest party are the people who were in gov when the construction was permitted, but they are unlikely to suffer any consequences

7 years later, news still reporting on homes in cali falling down cliffs due to landslides. Except now, insurance companies refusing to ensure certain homes / making it hard to get a payout. Yet people still doing it. Youtube algorithm at its best.
