  1. the internal monologue seems prolonged to the viewer/audience because it helps us get a better view of what and how exactly the minds of how characters process and react to the situations they are placed in, but in real time/the world of death note, it wasn't even long at all.

  2. So, I've watched an entire Death Note right after Youtube forced me into it by filling my recommendations with DN shorts/moments. And I noticed that there was no "genius Light's plan", bruh.

Basically, his "entire plan" crashes if the condition "Rem loves Misa" is false. All Light did was just show L to Rem. And Ryuzaki wouldn't die if he DIDN'T say to Rem that he was the one L torturing Misa for 50 days. It was not Yagami being this smart to outsmart L. It was L making a huge mistake due to having no idea about Rem and her ("shall I call you mista?") feelings towards Misa.

Not going to lie, good anime, no annoying animation, it has a lot of logical yet predictable plot twists (seriously, somebody thought Rem would give a death note to another person without being sure it could help Misa?) but, sadly, maybe, it started to be disappointing right after L invited Light to join his "mafia"-style investigation.

I'm not saying it's that bad, I just saw nothing "genius" to me. Maybe, I'm just a 🤓 irl XD

  3. According to the Author, whenever a percentage was bought up, it was really at least 90%, instead of the percentage mentioned. Safe to say L probably knew it was light.

  4. So many of these anime pretend they have an "intelligent protagonist", but all they do is make the protagonist do something slightly unconventional that would never actually work. Light is one of those few truely intelligent protagonists where you just gotta stop and admire the genius.

  5. Intentionally giving yourself amnesia and predicting not only your own behavior, but the behavior of other people for months in advance and orchestrating the return of your memories at the perfect moment is so ridiculously beyond to all these others it's not even funny. It stands out as one of the most elaborate mind fucks in all of fiction that I know of. I love this s***, so if anyone knows of any brilliant long cons like this lmk
