This episode looks at the landslide disasters in California, where heavy rainfall moved massive amounts of mud down barren, fire-damaged hillsides; in Venezuela, where a series of destructive landslips wiped out a 100 kilometre coastline; and in the small Welsh mining village of Aberfan, where a calamitous mudslide overtook an entire school of young children.

9. We live in a house on a steep hill. Probably one of the biggest mistakes of my life. You're building departments and building codes don't cover how to build things on slopes such as those properly. They're more interested in tax revenue. Just like when the Secretary of State for Louisiana deleted the requirement for flood insurance in New Orleans just before the hurricane.
