Keep in mind that almost all animals get killed in the wild. That is why when you approach a wild animal their instinct is to fight you. So yes your are "Freeing them". To likely get killed and eaten. And I assume that since they were in captivity, they have no idea what is about to happen once the humans leave.
they are experiments, they are not free, they have sensors and GPS tied to their necks, these are scientists like the German National Socialists of the 1930s
