20 Deadliest Landslides Caught On Camera

Spread The Viralist

Imagine a sudden roar echoes through the mountainside, followed by a deafening crash as a massive wave of debris, rocks, and trees comes hurtling down the slope towards you. It’s a landslide, a natural phenomenon where gravity takes hold and the earth itself seems to come alive. While there are technical classifications for different types of landslides, when you’re facing one head-on, the only thing that matters is getting out of the way before it’s too late.
A landslide is a very destructive force that can leave huge areas completely submerged in mud and debris, but if one occurs underwater then this can cause a tsunami as well. So that’s just marvellous isn’t it? As if it wasn’t enough that there were dangerous landslides all over the show, they might also set off yet more hideous natural disasters.

So, here for you are the 20 Deadliest Landslides Caught On Camera.

  1. I'm not an engineer, and only looking at one picture
I have to question whether the homeowners put an artificial pond along the cliff
and the seepage over time helped to destabilized the cliff?

  2. #8 The use of "artillery" for control of snow is quite common and used every year in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. The Highways and ski areas are closed for the action. It beats what was done in the past of having humans climb to the ares of danger and plant dynamite to loosen the snow.

We 50 lakh people of Kerala live at the mercy of a 125 year old clay dam. If left unchecked, we are going to witness the worst natural disaster ever in world history due to collective unconsciousness. Not interested in discussing politician, movie stars or TV channels. The probability of disaster is 99.9% if care is not taken. Idukki is also famous for minor earthquakes. I appeal to each and every one of you in Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Idukki and Thrissur districts to take this issue seriously and not rest until our voices are heard loudly in the decision-making centers.

The California landslides, like in Palos Verdes, shouldn't be a surprise. If you've ever been along that stretch you'll see that the ground is mostly packed sand-like material and it is easily crumbled. It's almost sandstone, but looser. At 22:22 you can see how easily it can be crumbled.
If you've ever seen the old movie "It's a mad, mad. mad. mad world" The opening scene where the guy goes over the side of the road you can go there and see where the road has shifted, many times, and how far it's moved.
Anyone building a house along that cliff is an idiot.

  5. This is hilarious because my daughter bought $24.89 worth of items from Amazon and added a packet of kool-aid to get the free shipping. Amazon shipped everything but the $.26 pack of kool-aid in one package then shipped a single pack of kool-aid a few days later! They drove 20+ miles for 1 packet of koolaid!

  6. Stopped watching after the 1st one in Taiwan. Misleading title. "… landslides caught on camera.." This is the aftermath of a landslide, not the actual landslide.
