If you haven’t reversed a trailer before, or if you haven’t done it in a while, give yourself a chance to practice in a large empty space.

The bigger the trailer the easier it is, so a bit of frustration working with a smaller trailer is perfectly normal.

Here’s a few tips to get you on the right path!

  1. I got this job at a construction site, have to reverse a big ass trailer full of tools, at least 3 times a day, I came to watch this video bc I don’t know do it yet, this old coworker of mine doesn’t even know how explain shit right n makes me look bad by saying , “move , let me do it cause u taking too long”. “ I already explained you” Fuckkk haha, my worst fear at the moment is having to do it while some cars are waiting, hate that pressure

  2. First time hauling a tow dolly. I felt like I was Mr Tow King. Once the reversing of the tow dolly needed to be done, I tried about 50 times before getting out of the truck, MANUALLY disconnecting, and moving the dolly where I wanted it.

  3. I reckon electrical company and we have long trailers transporting machines that we use on everyday use. My question is I haven't driven in a while with a trailer on the back what do you advise me do if I haven't done it in a while and don't want to feel embarrassed about the whole situation backing a trailer in?

  4. My brain seriously doesn't comprehend the reverse with a trailer. It seems to go the same direction no matter how I turn. It just does whatever it wants and the wheel is useless. Also turning back and forth trying to get the wheel straight again doesn't work. So confusing. It's like driving and reversing your entire life and then inverting it upside-down under water. It just doesn't register.

  5. My first tike backing a trailer was fun, but I think where I had to back the trailer helped me out q bit too…. between a container and a building with like 3 inches on either side…… got the trailer lined up and got it in on the first try….. no assistance needed

  6. I had a JetSki trailer that you couldn’t see without the ski. So long story short I walked it down the boat ramp to get the ski back. Re hooked it up at the bottom of the ramp.

  7. Wtf why do you said the opposite.. literally at 37 seconds ur turing the wheels to the right and guess which way the trailor goes ?? Right!!!

  8. Managed to back a 4×8 uhaul up I95 at 75mph after watching this! Might have been faster but that’s what they put on my court papers. I have trailer hitches on the front and back of all my vehicles now.

  9. "The bigger the trailer the easier it is to back it up"

Okay then tell me why I jack knifed a 2 car trailer fully loaded on an incline in a cul de sac, on a mountain neighborhood.

  10. The average person can master reversing a trailer in about 10 seconds with this little life hack. To get the hang of how this works, firstly get your car and trailer lines up – as easy as driving as far as say 5 metres in a straight line and stopping. Now put your dominant hand in the very centre of the BOTTOM of the steering wheel, watch your mirrors and start reversing 'very slowly'. Now while watching the trailer in your mirrors, if the trailer needs to go to the left, simply push your hand (that's at the BOTTOM of the steering wheel) to the left, if the trailer needs to go to the right, push your hand to the right. You'll master it in seconds. Basically, you just push your hand in the direction that you want the trailer to go. It's super easy.
    Who'da thunk, 🙂 🙂 🙂

  11. I am trying to learn to do it with a Valtra tractor and its driving me nuts! we have to weave it between 5 or 6 cones in and out XD I have 4 days of training and then a test my god wish me luck!

  12. Managed to reverse down a drive and out round a corner, not gracefully, but didn't cause any damage. Figured it was time to check out how to really do it 😀

  13. When I was taught how to back up a trailer, if you hold the steering wheel at the bottom and steer from the bottom of the steering wheel, you don't have to worry about that whole turning in the opposite direction thing. You can turn in the direction that you want the trailer to go. Give it a try the next time you need to back up a trailer.

  14. It becomes much harder if there is a**hole outside yelling and try’s to guide u and says let me do it then does sh*t job himself. But after a 50th try says this how u do it.

  15. Lol I'm fk'd then, downloaded auto truck simulator to get some practice in before paying for lessons n it took me 33mins to get the long trailer backed into the bay 😂
