  1. I use this for my broken window the ones that you wind to open, handle cane off now its just the bolt i put it on a drill and use it to open/ close. Also good for waterhose switches however i tried to use this on my bmw for car work … no way its strong enough unless the bolts are already extremely loose.

  2. The inventor of this must be a fastener tycoon. I can't think of a better way to have to buy new nuts and bolts every single time they're removed.

  3. I'm female and have bought a few. They're really helpful for the light stuff I have to do when I don't feel like digging around my husband's drawers for the correct socket.

  4. I feel like this product may have been more durable and usable of the pins were hexagonal and everything fit flush within the socket. Rounded pins just leaves gaps, allowing for metal deformation and bending.
Might even be worth the money if said hexagonal pins were made from titanium.

  5. Looks like for basic household use and light automotive work, it can be useful- but no matter what you're using it for, you can't apply too much torque; you have to use it a bit carefully and be aware that if you screw it up you may chew up the material whatever you're working on, or break your gatorgrip.

  6. I personally own the gator socket. While it is not ideal for all applications it is definitely a good tool to keep in your box as it has proven to be useful to me a few times and when you are trying to get something done and this is the only tool that did it, I can appreciate that.

  7. I got something like this for changing my oil because I didn't have the money to get a full socket set and am not a car person. I just don't want to take my car in to get the oil changed. Since it's max size was the size of the oil plug it worked like a normal socket, but because I'm a small girl I had trouble with it springing off when I was trying to fit it on, but once it was on it was on.
I did not get the gator grip brand.

  8. Lmao I was thinking when he was on the 10mm bolt "ya gotta hold the damn ratchet straight" n then the other dude grabbed it n got it first try

  9. I was a merchandiser at a home improvement store. For years I dismantled old displays to build new ones. Whatever i dismantled was ALWAYS built with several different size hex head fasteners. I used the Gator Grip all the time. So handy not having to constantly change sockets. It worked great for my purposes.

  10. Sockets have round cutouts on the corners so they don't round the edges of bolts as easily/quickly.

Even when this socket does "work", it's going to grind down bolts over time.

  11. No they don’t replace a tool kit but they have their place. I do metal framing and drywall for a living and i have to do concrete anchors and occasional odd ball things like eye lags and stuff and i always keep it in my work truck and it has saved me a few times. I do usually have a socket set on me and of course I prefer that but there have been times I didn’t have my sockets or I didn’t have the right size and had to bust out the gator grip. Its more of a last resort tool.

  12. I see a use for this. You got a tool box, you find out you don't have the right size socket or whatever for what your doing. Instead of having to go to the store, have a go with this.
It won't replace your toolbox, but for 10 bucks could save you a trip to the store if you don't have the right size socket etc

  13. Not the greatest thing on earth, but they quasi work on a lot of stuff. When you go in expecting it not to work at all, you'll be surprised lol
