Spread The Viralist

As of 2020 Tesla has logged over 3 billion miles of autonomous vehicle driving. That’s over 120,000 laps around your momma. Like it or not, we can all agree that autonomous vehicles are the way of the future. Tesla, Cadillac, BMW, they’re just a few companies that have cars on the market with autonomous features. But each of them tackle this “autonomous driving” problem in a different way using different technology. So how do they do it, how does it really work, and more importantly, is a computer in a car truly as responsive as the human brain? Well today we are gonna find out. Skynet is here.

  1. You need LIDAR. Anyone calling it a fools errand truly doesn't know what they're talking about. Tesla's "autopilot" is a fools errand. Camera's see the world mostly flat.

  2. Wow, do I miss my 1978 manual transmission Honda CIVIC. I really felt in control than I do in an automatic.
So it had no AC, FM radio, or any frills, it lasted 10 years.
My first car. I miss it! 😫

  3. What was it, 2016, when Musk stated that they could drive from a parking lot in California to a parking lot in New York without the driver ever needing to touch the steering wheel. More than 6 years later Tesla FSD is at level 2 and are not as capable as several other autonomous car projects. Oh, and for the privilege of having a car that's mid pack at best you need to fork out $15K, not for something they have now but for something they promise you'll have 'any day now'. Musk is a lying sack of sh!t and always has been, how he avoids prosecution by the SEC for statements that other CEO's would be in prison for is frankly shocking — or it should be shocking.

  4. Self driving cars where I can get in and turn a tv on and forget I’m driving would be cool. Driver assistance I think is dumb since I want to drive the thing I’m driving. If a leaf 🍃 blows by me and slams my brakes on I don’t think is good.

  5. "Yes, I who have made cars for 10-15 years that crash into things all the time say with certainty and expertise above Audi, VW, Mercedes, BMW, Citroen, Peugeot, Renault etc. that the tech they're using means they're doomed, even though my camera only setup murders motorcyclists!"
Wasn't that set on buying a Tesla, now I'm 100% certain I never will.
Also they had Radar and removed it, refuse to use Lidar and only use regular (probably 1080p or lower quality) cameras.

  6. I know this was 2 years ago, but did ANYONE NOTICE IT IGNORED THE GUY ON THE ROAD AND IF HE DIDN'T MOVE IT WOULD HAVE HIT HIM? THE CAR DIDN'T EVEN TWITCH AT THE GUY ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT JUST BARRELED ON!
Then there's the driver. Who want paying attention. What was he doing by the way? Twiddling his thumbs.

  7. The more of Jeremiah I see, the more I wish I'd started watching Donut years ago. I spent ages thinking these videos were click baity, not in depth technical explanations.

  8. how are we sure that the car was in self driving mode…just because the guys says it was, huh sounds like a good way to attempt to get a settlement form tesla. unless they were able to get the car computer and physically see it was in self driving mode, I think he hit it on purpose(people are dumb these days).

  9. Why cant people just drive ? its an honest question, Put the phone down and don't drink and look forward. Its pretty basic and 92% of drivers are driving 2 peddles. im a 3 peddle driver and i see the stupidest things on the roads i kid you not. Example : " i turn left on a blinging green, and across from me an men in his 60's takes a right that has a yield sing. its a 4 lane road and he guts across all lanes from far right to my lane in far left ??? WHY ! " and this is the story on why i sold my motorcycle

  10. You were basically spot-on with the "it didn't know what the semi was" thing.

I doubt Tesla engineers had trained the model to recognize an overturned semi truck. This is why it would probably be helpful for them to be smart and instead of using a huge 3D LiDAR system like other manufacturers, just replacing the radar with a unidirectional 2D LiDAR sensor, similar to what newer Roombas use. Then it could've seen that there was a large stationary object directly in front of the car and braked, without having an ugly thing on top of the car.

  11. so what will the person do while the car drives itself? I don't understand the reason for self driving cars. plus there's not fun in travelling, even driving an automatic is boring

  12. Cars , Phones , google Maps , needs a PING accident button … if cars at a certain location start pressing the accident button , SMART cars can be updated … the Lidar , Camera system needs to be LINKED , with mobile apps … and a car crash can automatically ping the app a Location

  13. Just a little FYI suggestion here: a "semi" refers to a type of trailer, either a 'full' or 'semi' and pulled by a 'tractor' truck. The truck laying on its side in this video and hit by the Tesla looks to be a box truck, not a tractor-semi-trailer. Uh, pardon me? What was that again? Did I hear someone out there say, 'ehhh shadduppp, youse schmuck'? Well then, I digress. But really, one should know one's trucks and how to keep from making contact with them.

  14. are you sure it a tesla? i watch this video 2nd times and i just realize there's foreign language on the cctv footage are you sure it's a tesla? i'm going to change my like to dislike i think i'm the 1st to dislike this video

  15. Turn all the roads back into dirt. I will laugh when the hordes of homeless people turn into road pirates and raid these stupid things.
