  1. willingly delusional, unable to understand or digest fact from fiction. the farther down into the theist mind they go, the more depraved they become.

  2. The good thing about these types of theist arguments is that I get a huge nostalgia hit. They have not changed their tune in the 15 years I've been watching these kinds of videos.

  3. I'm thinking that "Morality" is a religious term. I prefer, "Justice."
Cicero, without referring religion, claims that "Justice," is "Identifying what is good for oneself as being good for others."
Many publicly-professed religious people reject this idea.

  4. Him: you can’t see mars without a telescope

Me: stargazing every single summer and being perfectly able to spot mars with little to no knowledge of the movement of planets and stars

  5. I know it's OT, but I wish people would stop with the "proof is in the pudding" nonsense.
The correct saying is "the proof OF the pudding is in the EATING". IOW, you don't know if it's any good until you try it.

  6. Sadly, apologists make absolutely no effort to understand the scientific principles they criticise. For them, it is so much easier to just believe in a god that can just do it all. As a child, the world opened up for me when I realised that adding god (any god) to my world view was completely unnecessary and superfluous.

  7. So Shapiros saying u can only be moral if u have a fear of divine punishment or a desire for divine reward. Some of the shallowest shit i evwr heard

  8. How they claim to "know" and "believe" while also claiming to be going just on faith which is basically just hoping ur right🤷🏾‍♂️

  9. The Epicurean Paradox is a pretty powerful tool against the Christian god, I have yet to hear them give a meaningful response to it.

  10. #1 Atheists just don't believe in a god or gods. It's not a belief system like a religion. So, clueless theist strawmaning atheists and filling the gaps of his wilful ignorance with his version of a god.
#2 Big number fallacy, watch maker fallacy, god of the gaps fallacy, strawmaning, and bad Gish galloping = Major cringe. Mars is one of the 5 planets that we can see with the naked eye, and I have seen it myself, both with the naked eye and with a telescope.
#3 Ben Shapiro… Do I have to add anything ?
#4 NOT a single scientist ever proposed anything close to a global flood on Mars. Seas, lakes and rivers covering about 50% of the Martian surface are a far cry from anything that could be deemed a global flood. We have tons of evidences against a global flood like that from the bible and none supporting it. I enjoyed Aaron Ra's series of 8 videos debunking the biblical flood story. Each single one, all by itself, annihilating the flood fable.

  11. What really annoys me is when theists use the 'watches and planes are designed and so are we' argument is that everything we have evidence for design for don't reproduce.
Everything we don't have evidence of design for do not reproduce.

  12. 07:21 Mars is visible in the night sky without a telescope which actually makes the whole "you wouldn't know it was there without a telescope" stupidly wrong.
The ONLY requirement is knowing where to find Mars in the night sky. That certainly can't be said for "finding God".

  13. You criticize them for strawmanning and scientific illiteracy and then suggest christians believe in free will when the Bible makes it clear there is no such thing. Exodus 9:11 God overrides a humans free will to further his goals by murder and torturing of humans. Christians that believe in the Bible do not believe in Freewill. If they do they ain't believing in the christian god.

  14. Even if we, for the sake of argument, accepted that there was at some point in Earth's history a global flood, that in no way indicates that the story of a magical flood and a man taking two of every animal on a boat is true.

  15. If you need a god to tell you not to kill people, by all means, believe in that god. But some of us are capable of figuring out the obvious on our own. Just because you're a sociopath doesn't mean there's something wrong with me. Question, Ben. How did you determine that your God is good, and should be the arbiter of morality? If you have no foundation by which to evaluate your God's moral proclamations, you can't know if those proclamations are good or bad and therefore have no moral foundation. If your God tells you to own slaves or kill homosexuals or, say, rape a child, you must accept it is moral to do so. Sorry, but I don't agree. And if you do have a foundation on which to evaluate your God's morals, then your God's proclamations are irrelevant. You can figure out for yourself what is right or wrong and you don't need the god.

  16. A huge problem with the look at the trees argument, is it assumes objective beauty standards. There are many people who do not find trees, or mountains, or the sky to list a few things, to be beautiful. Aside from that, they have the causality backwards. Things were not made for us because we would think they're beautiful, rather we are evolved to find things beautiful which lend some evolutionary advantage.

  17. Hey Professor! Have you ever considered going on any of the Atheist talk shows, like The Atheist Experience or The Line, and co-host with other content creators, such as Forrest Valkai, Gutsick Gibbon, and Emma Thorne? You are very knowledgeable when it comes to debunking Theist claims, and I think you'd be great at pointing out some of the callers' fallacies and providing them with ways to think more critically in their lives!
Either way, thanks for the wonderful video!

  18. There is an old saying that goes something like this – don’t argue with idiots they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. I think we can safely say this applies to religious arguments.

  19. Even the greatest religious intellectuals can't offer a rational argument for the existence of God. Even they just appeal to a blind faith.

  20. When you see how beautiful the world is…? When you see parasites burrowing into their victims, predators killing cute baby animals, violent thunderstorms and tornados destroying houses and killing people….?

  21. My favorite has to be the "look at your jeans" argument for God's existence. It is truly an intellectual masterpiece. I'm a believer now.

  22. 18:17 "In the end, the proof is in the pudding."

    NO!

This perversion of the saying is meaningless; one could just as easily say, "the proof is up the tree", or, "the proof is in my pocket", etc.

It's, "The proof of the pudding is in the eating."

Ie, the pudding might look like a turd, but it's actually, delicious, or, the pudding might look absolutely amazing, but tastes sickly and unpleasant.

However, it is true that, with more religious countries/states, the more secular ones are better than them by virtually every metric.

  23. Worth noting, we have ancient Egyptian documentation about the path of the planet Mars from 2nd century B.C.e so about 3600 years before Galileo observed it through a telescope.

  24. I'm so glad someone is finally checking Shapiro. I used to listen to him when he should speak on politics, but he loves to inject his sky daddy into EVERYTHING.

  25. I see all of nature that he sees, almost surely better, and it does not evoke a God at all, especially not the Christian God. Why do they never point out the bad, of which there is plenty, and say how it points to God. Doesn't fit the narrative.

  26. Funny, isn't it? Atheists are dumb because we only use facts and scientific research to come to conclusions, while 'they' believe something just because someone told them to.

  27. I've never met a creationist who can admit they're wrong and don't know anything about … anything.
Hell, most of the time I have more of the bible memorized than they do.
Most christians don't actually know much of the bible at all, they just follow along like little brainwashed cult members.
