  1. I'm in favor of East v West ASG.

52 polayers getting the ASG bonus in their salary compared to the 26 players, awesome. Especially because it increases the likelihood of younger players actually making the team. (Maybe a minimum number of U22 players on each team?)

  2. Pretty sure this is the best Extratime lineup. Still think Kalyn (Canadian lady, sp?) will be fine long term, just needs to make some adjustments.

  3. Great discussion and points about Vazquez with Cincinnati and Gladbach transfer. I feel like there was, and still is, a mentality that the second an offer comes along MLS clubs should be grateful and sell any player to a big five European league club. The issue is balancing that and considering the well being of your club. MLS clubs are odd in the world market for two reasons. Cincinnati doesn't need the money the same way you may read about an Argentine side selling to cover costs. The other being how the roster restrictions warp the value of a player. Replacing a DP is far more open ended than the rest of the guys like a Vazquez.
We demand clubs and fans care, and then get shocked when winning is prioritized. I agree for my Cincinnati 2023 is the year. We are in a semi final and we are leading the Shield race. That may not happen again at the half way point of a season for 5, 10, 20 years. You never know in a league with so much parity when your window or moment will come again. We signed Boupendza and keeping Vazquez sends a singular message; win now!

  4. Wiebe uses what my High School chemistry teacher calls "the answer shotgun". 'If I list every possibility, I cannot be be wrong' haha. Looks like Calen got in on it this week

  5. I have an off-topic question regarding the men's national team. Why do they play the first team for the nations league but not the actual gold cup?

  6. Calen Carr bringing the truth pushing an East v West ASG.

Love Gass but the man has been regularly annoying me this season with his “Canada day”, red/flyover state, anti car, anti-kid, bodega talk bs.
He is also straight up rude at times this year. He was always this way but it was sprinkled on and kinda endearing. Now he is pouring it on. It’s like he has turned himself up and it’s not working for me. He was more enjoyable when he was afraid of Doyle haha

  7. There are no "bragging rights" in All-Star games. The Liga MX vs MLS version was as close as we got to having "bragging rights" as a factor. All-Star games are just to celebrate the game… you get to see a bunch of the best players on the same field, the banter and interaction on and off the field, the events surrounding the game, etc.

  8. Why not take ideas from the NBA. You can have a 3 day all star weekend or week where you have a skills challenge the first night, 7v7 pickup east v west or more player driven pickup games and then end the all star time with an all MLS team against a foreign team.

And with the skills challenge, maybe try to invite previous stars of the league and even extend an invite to foreign soccer stars or celebrities to team up with MLS players in a competition. Let's make it a big spetical. It's an entertainment product at the end of the day. Make it as extravagant as possible. Kind of like a festival of soccer in America.

  9. What if… we had an East vs West game but it's 2 legs, so one in East team stadium and then one in West stadium, and if both games tie, then a final tie breaker in DC. So we have a game on Saturday and the second one mid week and if need be one game on Saturday to win the All Stars Cup… might be a bit much just an idea

  10. I'm a Sounders fan, but Morris? He started the season with All Star quality. The first quarter of the season was great. The second quarter has been very quiet. Does he really deserve it?

  11. As an Orlando fan Robin Jansson was snubbed. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves from Orlando fans even but he's made so many recovery tackles for Schlegel being out of position or our left back being up, he seems to have got a lot faster somehow this season and he is one of the best long ball passers in MLS, he could easily move into midfield and he wouldn't look out of place, he also goes on line-breaking runs a lot to get rid of pressure and I don't think he's lost the ball once doing so.

  12. Hey MLS how’s the Apple deal working out for ya 😂😂😂😂 No one has been subscribing to it lol..but all these loser American Soccer channels are fake supporting it 😂😂
