Was the man at the Grand Canyon suicidal? An attempted suicide is what that looks like to me. If I had been there I would have tried to talk him back to safety. I would also asked if anyone has any kind of rope. As an experienced hiker I almost always carry a strand of rope with me whenever I go hiking or explore a park. A strand of rope could have possibly prevented that tragedy.
