Am on the Oregon coast & we have a simple saying here……..NEVER EVER TURN YOUR BACK ON THE OCEAN! She is a force that humanity will NEVER be able to master. And it's that DISRESPECTFUL attitude that lead directly to this horrid event! Bob Ballard respected it, the Navy respects it. Stockton Rush & Oceangate did not. 6. They fired the guy that told them their hull was only rated for 4,200ft and they should not go to 12,500 ft before fixing issues. Gave him 10 minutes to leave the office, they didn't care their sub was not built to spec or certified. Implosion was guaranteed with their design.
