Amazing, I love hearing near-death stories. My paraplegic/partially-quadriplegic friend has an amazing one from when he was in his car wreck at 19 (hit by a drunk driver). He said the same thing – he was free & in bliss & then got stuffed back into this painful, broken body. He definitely had more good work to do. He stuck around until he was 39. Regarding the dark place some report they go to that you mentioned, my spiritual teachers have taught me that what that is, referred to as "hell" in religions, is where we find ourselves when our karmas are so heavy that we can't rise up to the higher planes of consciousness and are too heavy to incarnate into another body even so that karma has to be burned off in order to be able to move up & out. It's not forever, but for really harmful people like Hitler or Alexander "the Great" etc., it can take millions or billions of years with all the heavy karma on their hands. I remember hearing a near-death experience from a girl who had shot herself in the chest – suicide is heavy karma, destruction of any life is – and she immediately found herself there – assumably, she was already in so much pain and suffering anyway before pulling the trigger. However, she immediately called out to our Source of Life and started getting lifted up out of it. Sounds like her heart was healed through that experience, and luckily, the bullet had just missed her heart somehow and she survived.

I have not experienced a NDE but I did have a dream that I had passed. It’s too long of a story but I believe it was not a dream. It’s been 40 years since then and I remember as if it happened yesterday.
