Introduction – Moses tells the Israelites that they are called to be a priestly kingdom and a holy people. Jesus sends out the disciples as laborers into the harvest. In baptism we too are anointed for ministry, sharing God’s compassion with our needy world. From the Lord’s table we go forth to proclaim the good news, to heal the sick, and to share our bread with the hungry. ~ Sundays & Seasons

PRAYER FOR WORLD REFUGEE DAY
Rev. Dr. Timothy Teuscher, President, Lutheran Church–Canada (LCC)
Gracious and merciful heavenly Father,
As Your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ had no place to lay His head in this world, so we commit to Your care all who are homeless; especially those who have been forced from their
homes and land due to political unrest and violence, economic conditions, famines, and natural disasters.
Send Your holy angels to watch over them and protect them, especially all mothers and children.
As we are all strangers and aliens in this world, open our hearts to refugees and so welcome them into our midst and provide for them with the material blessings You have given us; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Amen.

Thank you to Rev. Barbara Groote, to Elke for assisting, to Gladys for the music, Gary for reading, and to Norma, Jessica, Sue, David, Lynette, Stefanie, and to all who helped with this service.
