Description: “This happened near Pinjarra, WA a few months ago. Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt, but the VW was written off. The VW was already overtaking the caravan when the Camry thought they’d have a go too. It didn’t end well. ”

  1. It looks like the Camry driver was probably taking too long to overtake the caravan and the cars further back became impatient. This creates a dangerous situation because it means the cars further back have to overtake for a longer stretch. You see this all the time on the open road. If a driver is unsure about overtaking then they should pull back to create a gap between themselves and the caravan. Drivers are usually too timid to overtake because they are bad drivers with low confidence. They create hazardous situations or cause accidents. In this case it appears they did both.

  2. What always gets me is people don't indicate prior to moving, if he'd have indicated just a couple of seconds before pulling across, even if he hadn't looked there would likely not have been a crash

  3. At least the idiot who pulled out on the overtaking car did pull over after causing the crash. Usually when they don't get hit themselves they just drive on

  4. Clearly the Camry's fault. But what I still don't understand is VW so bold enough to double overtake, yet scared to move so fast out the road when it sees Camry.
VW wasn't moving that fast relative to the Camry. and hand not even started passing it. Just break man. … on the road.

  5. Maybe Carvaners can sit on the seed limit instead of worrying about fue economy.

People have places to be and sometimes make stupid overtaking decisions due to frustration.
