In fairness Kratos has died 4 times
Twice he died treacherously at the hands of Ares, once at the hands of Zeus
Ares killed him, but not in direct combat, and Zeus killed him after he deceived him and withdrew his divine power and killed him in his weakest condition.
Twice he died in direct combat
Once at the hands of (Kiron) in the part of God of War Chains of Olympus
And the second time at the hands of (Thor).
And the best one for me is his death at the hands of Thor
Love how everyone says Kratos is stronger in GoWR but you literally see him getting KO by a lil bonk and as a young demi-god he would get his whole chest crushed n destroyed but its still alive n tries to pull the whole thing out to carry out his mission.

To be honest the gow3 scene is definitely the most emotional because in that moment kratos lost his desire for vengeance and saw the destruction he caused and he tried to end himself to save everyone else.
