Recently, Amidst the ongoing violence in Manipur, the case related to the Meitei community reached the Supreme Court. Manipur MLA Dinganglung Gangmei has challenged the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court. It has been said in the petition that the Supreme Court should stay the Manipur High Court’s decision to issue a notification to give Scheduled Tribe status to the Meitei community. On the other side the ongoing tussle between the Center and the Delhi Government, the Supreme Court has given a jolt to the Central Government. The bench headed by CJI DY Chandrachud has given a major verdict in favor of the Delhi government. The court said that except police, law and order and land, rest of the powers will be with the Delhi government.
In another section Recently the government made some amendments in the Money Laundering Act to prevent black money in the country. Its purpose is to curb black money used for the purchase and sale of property. Along with that there is a panel constituted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has proposed to the government to ban diesel-powered 4 wheelers by the year 2027.
