We named her Hope and she was found in a village. She got saved by a miracle after weeks in the hospital and a very difficult surgery.
It is not the first injured dog we find because of the illegal traps that humans place around the villages for wild pigs . No witness, no information about that crime ever came even though we publish it and ask people and even though we go to the police every time.
The dog had no microchip .
The number of the stray animals in our area is endless, we try to help those that need help, to neuter, to feed ,to rehome as many as we can but unfortunately we don’t have enough place to keep them all under our care ..

I’ve been involved in helping rescue services and individuals save the lives of dogs and other animals for over 40 years. I have seen some dreadful things aflicted upon so many innocent animals. But this, Ermione is up there with some of the worst I’ve seen. That’s injury must have been unbearably painful for Hope. I don’t think that it’s possible for anyone who has any compassion to understand properly why someone could do such a thing. It’s beyond unbelievable. But added to this is the distress that must have been caused to you and all those in helping Hope. You all must be so courageous to persevere with trying your very best to help her. It would have been so much easier on you and everyone if you had not even known about her. But you did know, and you didn’t walk away, you faced up to the horrors because you know what is right and wrong, and you have compassion that equals your courage. Despite dear Hope’s dreadful experience she was so lucky that the man who found her, you, the vets and everyone else involved, went to her assistance. Hope clearly knew it was her one chance to survive, which despite all that one human did to her, she was willing to let you near her. That beautiful girl knew you were all there for her. How do dogs do that? It’s one of the things that amazes me the most. But during the nights you do not sleep because of how awful the things are that you’ve seen as part of your rescue work, please remember one thing. The Hopes of this world in a strange way are the lucky ones. You have rescued them, you have given them a chance to live without further abuse towards them. I hope that will help you rest a little easier. The unlucky ones that we should ALL feel so concerned about are the Hopes of this would that we do NOT yet know about, so their pain and horror continues. But I truly pray that those of us who want to help these dear animals can try to stick together and support each other when we are willing to reach out and try to save the lives of such animals. You deserve our support, and help in any way we can. I salute you Ermione, and all those who are as brave and compassionate as yourselves. God bless you my dear. You do a wonderful job saving dogs and cats. Your not like paw squadron out of Ukraine. They only help abandoned puppies. They drive right by other grown dogs they are horrible.
