10 Natural Remedies That Actually Work

Spread The Viralist

I’ve come on this channel and debunked “natural remedies” and “at home treatments” for various health problems more times than I can even remember. Considering how critical I’ve been of these naturopathic treatments, you might be surprised to learn that while most of them a myths, there are a handful of natural treatments that you can actually use to treat some mild health conditions. Honey for a cough, melatonin for sleep, saline nasal sprays to clear your sinuses while you have a cold, sugar for hiccups, oatmeal to treat eczema, aloe vera for sunburns, prunes for constipation, calamine for itches and burns, probiotics, and even duct tape to fight warts. Of course, don’t get me started on soda for fighting an upset stomach! Have you tried any of these? Let me know down in the comments!

I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

  1. one time I had a wart on my foot when I was little and I distinctly remember having to be pinned down by my mom and big brother (sometimes one of my big sisters as well) just to use the freezing cryoptherapy thing on it. By the sheer strength of will power I was able to last for what felt like forever until they basically made me immobilized just so they could treat my foot😂

  2. First time I hear, u have an upset stomach drink coca cola, where I live is drink sparkling water to make you burp. It helps also when u have reflex

  3. Here is a tip for if you have the urdge to watch something before sleep
    turn on night time mode!
it doesnt fix it but makes it a little easier to sleep after words!

  4. From the age 6-12 the only thing I ever drank was soda. I never drank water. My mom didn’t know it was THAT unhealthy and I clearly had an addiction. Luckily I’m 25 and I’m fine. I’ve always had a fast metabolism and I haven’t drank soda in years. Maybe occasionally but I love water now

  5. Side note on the aloe vera: check which plant you have at home, some sp. Have to be drained and washed of an orange liquid before use. Also many companies that make aloe products for sunburn put a very small amount of aloe in the final product alongside a lot of alcohol which ultimately dries out the skin.

  6. With coke my mom always was saying about role of gas of you want to puke. If you want to puke but can have few sips of something gassy and then you will barf and either your stomach ache will go away with barf or you will literally puke.

  7. A late input about aloe vera. My family has at least 10 plants at home, and we use it for cuts, small burns, irritation and acne. It's a must have at home, along honey and garlic.

  8. What about club soda aka soda water or seltzer water. Growing up and even today. If my stomach is upset I’ll drink a club soda and the gas will make me burp and I’ll feel better it helps to settle my stomach.

  9. It's funny, I was given CocaCola when I was sick. My body associates it with being nauseous, so I can't STAND the stuff unless I'm sick and can't eat.

  10. 1 important thing with melatonina my doctor pointed out, that the supplements don't. If you take to much it can keep you from sleeping, he only recommended 2.5mg MAYBE 5mg. I eventually stopped taking it entirely because pain meds have helped enough I just need them.

  11. I am curious….you talk about sugar and the vegus nerve for hiccups. I have pvcs and a higher heart rate that can sometimes lead to an anxiety issue. You make me wonder if before things get out of control and I have an anxiety attack, in this case, would sugar also help calm the nerve. Normally I use ice packs on my chest. I don't know much about my condition as my doctor and cardiologist just tell me to control my anxiety and I am fine. I don't know if you've gone over these pvcs or ectopic heart rates but maybe for those of us that have it, you could make a video or something about it. I try to avoid Google and don't get the greatest of answers from my nurse practitioner. Some solid info would be great. I don't trust many doctors these days bug you seem to know what you are talking about, haha.

  12. when I'm 7 years old my grandmother accidently spill boiled water on my back, when it happen she quickly bring me to the shower room and let the water keep on running on my back. And then she quickly went to my backyard and get some aloe vera and use it to cover the burning area. the burning part is cure after around about a week, although it left a scar there but the curing process is even better than using some of the medicine that cure burnt skin.

  13. Dr. Mike my doctor told me that since I was throwing up a lot after getting the Hand Foot Mouth disease that I should drink soda to hydrate myself and numb the pain of my throat is that true?
