  1. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS DEAD…. Just… I just don't know. I'm so sorry to all who suffered. My heart still breaks.

  2. “I hope this goes fast” to paraphrase the survivor who took what she thought would be her last breath before drowning. Incredible story.♥️🙏🏻🥲

  3. Such sadness, heartbreak, these people have such powerful spirits. Such disasters show how small and helpless we really are against the forces of nature. And yet we have wars, we create terrible and deadly weapons, poisons, we kill each other! How can this be? Why can’t we just come together and live in peace, realizing how fragile and precious human lives are! 😢🙏🏻💔

  4. The situation like with yhe Earthquake in Turkey…Experts knew a few days earlier and nobody warned the people…. Here like a first it happended in Indonesia unbelievable that the country didn't warn the people around… Governments have never take care of people. Never

  5. Damn. Chinese lanterns so they also wanted to set grasslands and forests on fire, kill animals while they're at it? Idiots.

  6. After seeing the destruction in Turkey and Syria, I think we need to relocate a lot of cities and towns that are situated on or near the tectonic lines.

  7. 6:27 “I hope it’s quick” says that poor woman thinking she was done for.
Glad she made it. CANT BELIEVE ITS BEEN ALMOST 20 YEARS since this happened. Since then some 18000 people died in the 2011 Japan 9.0 earthquake/ tsunami. This was also a very horrible event. The way Mother Nature has the power to take so many lives all at once in an instant is frighteningly awesome.

  8. There are some thing one may never forget!
I was in Malaysia at the time and me and my family would have taken a boat to Langkawi but thankfully we skipped the boat trip last minute….I am so glad we did that!
    Some people never came back…
    🙁

  9. I was reminded recently about this. I rewatched and realized how much I’d forgotten. Tears pouring out of me watching people recounting their losses and guilt. Just a horrific tragedy.

  10. Absolutely gut wrenching…and unimaginable. I falter trying to find the adequate words for the horror that collectively traumatized so many in a matter of seconds. My heart is aching. Bless all of them forever.

  11. dont cry, god loves us all, and it is his plan. Yes death is part of life, but it is part of our world. Life is created , and life must end.

  12. It seems there was quite a bit of time between the earthquake and the tsunami in Thailand, why did so many people die? Was it a lack of education about what to do? Did they not feel the earthquake there? I spend 9 months of the year in this region and this makes me want to not live here anymore.

  13. My mom died a little over 4 months after this happened because of an illness she had for years. I spend a lot of time watching tv with her and I remember us seeing the news right after it happened. She was literally on the verge of death and this is one of the last times she was at home and not hospitalized or agonizing. She got a lot of donations for the victims of the tsunami and helped/inspired me to make a collect on my school and my sister's school and I don't remember how we did donate the money, because my mom died soon after and I just blocked a lot of those memories, but a family friend helped with that. I remember my mom crying saying "we have to help" and just crying. I don't remember a lot of those times, but I still remember her and the news and when I miss her I torture myself and cry about others instead of myself because she was so selfless and she helped people in need so I need to help even if I feel like dying.

  14. I find this really touching, and admire all the survivors for their strength. They were put through hell and came back.
But I also wonder why in a catastrophe that affected the economy and livelihood of so many east Asians,, only white or English speaking people are interviewed.

  15. We were in Banda Ache for holiday from the 14th, and supposed to be there until the new year, but a colleague of my husband quit and so we left on the 24th back to Brisbane so he could take the new client. We feel so guilty for our 'dumb luck'…or divine intervention…but I prefer the former, since the divine would have looked out for everyone. 🙁
