  1. The water going up 1" would DO NOTHING, it was clearly the erosion of the sand which happens EVERYWHERE. If there is no rivers feeding the area of the sea with sediment then it erodes.

If only there was some way of investigating the ground prior to building so your build could be designed to withstand such conditions but I assume no such thing exists as it is not like China to cut corners when it comes to health and safety.
