In this SMT Lore we will go over the yokai of smt! There is no way I could cover the entire cavalcade of Yokai in this series in one video without it being several hours long, but I wanted to make sure I talked about the fan favorites and also my own favorites on top. Once again leaving room for a sequel video in the future if people are interested. Shin Megami Tensei is known for its demons, ranging from the spiritual beings from modern religions, to mythical creatures from antiquity, and even some real people. Atlus, the creators of SMT, are a Japanese company, and if there is one thing Japan is known for it’s their variety of weird folklore animals and spirits, called Yokai. There’s no surprise that the games, whether it be SMT or Persona, are chocked full of these creatures. The story behind each of them have years of regional folklore, contemporary history, and plenty of traditions tied to each, so let’s learn a little bit about them. We’ll go over just a few of these uniquely Japanese demons, and believe me when I say these can get very strange. Without any further ado, let’s talk about the Yokai of Shin Megami Tensei.
