Deadly intent: the pilots who crash their planes on purpose | 7NEWS Spotlight

Spread The Viralist

When we get on board an aircraft, few of us give a second thought to the mental health of the people in the cockpit. The crash of Germanwings Flight 9525 changed that. 150 people, including two Australians, were killed when their Airbus A320 crashed into the French Alps in 2015. Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz had long suffered from depression and had reportedly visited more than a dozen different doctors seeking help before he deliberately downed his plane. In this investigation, Alex Cullen reveals it’s not the first time a suicidal pilot has committed mass murder and asks why lessons weren’t learned from previous deliberate crashes. This story originally aired in 2015.

  1. They really need and keypad outside the cockpit door so this situation can be cut back by 60%

Also fun fact if you have constipation or do push out stools 2-3 times a week!. If you buy and take Nature's Bounty Probiotic it will change your life and health. Best decision in life.

  2. Oh goshhh😢😢. I can imagine the gut feelings of the passengers.😢😢😢😢😢An airpocket can make you wet your pants.

  3. This is why I’m always so sweet and kind to pilots. I hope to god I’m good enough to keep them from doing this (if they want to)

  4. When this happens we need a system in place where the plane can be controlled by the air traffic controllers or something like that. It's the computer age after all.

  5. Once a pilot as depresion he should never be aloud to fly a plane again. it a high risk and this is not the first time this as happen and it will happen again.

  6. Us truckers deal with nuts putting their cars in.our paths to end their lives but what about my life do I not mean anything?

  7. “Mental health” not terrorist? Malaysian pilot was labeled a “potential Terrorist” even though the wreck was never found!

There’sa narrative loaded in every news report’

    Bias BS-MEDIA!

  8. I could NEVER be a Pilot even though I have good Vision ! I like to smoke my Strong Weed everyday but thank god I just have a Driving Job ! I couldn’t smoke weed every other day if I was a Pilot lol.

That would be funny if a Pilot Smoked a bunch of Weed before takeoff !

  9. They need to start having actual KEYS to the cockpit door for one… That could help stop this type.. I'm so sick and tired as a person in a highly educated field of psychology to KEEP SCREAMING about so many areas of employment that needs psychological tests EVERY 6MTHS!!

  10. I’ve always been an anxious flyer – except during my own flying lessons – but I literally comforted myself with the certainty that the pilots want to get home to their families like my adoptive grandpa did.
I don’t fly much anymore because the airlines are corrupt and the stress levels are just too high —— I will be getting my own private license though because I do love being up there.

  11. I don't see much recognition of which pilot of the Chinese passenger jet actually flew the plane into the ground. Why is that? Clearly it was the copilot. He was by a huge number of hours the pilot in the cockpit with the most hours and the most likely to have a death wish (doesn't everybody in China?). And It was the one guaranteed way to get out China.

  12. Planes main door should be open by remot control from the control tower, soo no pilot can close himself there and assasinate an entire crew and the decition to open or close the door in a plane hijack should be supervised by the entire control tower not by one pilot. Bro I would even be scared of being a pilot if I have to fly with a crazy dude and I can't even go to the bathroom with out knowing if he is going to close himself in and crash the plane.

  13. im going to crash the plane I better buckle up this might be a rough one. if he turned off the flight deck recorder how would anyone know he told the copilot there is a problem in the galley?

  14. It's about time airline Operator & IATA should MANDATE mental health ( include ethic & moral ) CERTIFICATION on every PILOT for consumer protection

  15. You know they have the black box which is actually Orange and all that stuff why don't they have cameras in there so they can see what the pilots are doing who did what and where cameras installed when you have cameras in my Uber why don't you have cameras in a multi-million dollar airplane with dozens of people's lives at stake

  16. There has to be some way to do that where they both have access to it without compromising the security there has to be a way there has to be a way that maybe they can turn off the computer parts or do a remote fly like a drone it turn off their access to the controls there has to be some safety features put in there and the only problem with the planes nowadays is the pilots and the maintenance screws those are White plains crash that's it once you get the human out of there everything's okay we are the ones that f*** everything up

  17. Well Elon musk needs to get busy and get some of us computer operated planes they can do with drones I know this would be a little more difficult but still it's the same fundamentals that way that's never happens you just have to wait for the computer to crash and it'll crash everything I don't think there's any way out of that except to drive which is sounding more and more like an option now the gas is actually coming down a little bit I don't know how you all are doing but gas in my town is $2.50 thank God I was afraid of my gas tank was going to fall out it's never had so much gas in the past 3 years I don't know if it's too rusted but it's hanging in there

  18. I stopped watching at the Silk Air amateur conspiracy theory garbage. Condolences to the father, but making up "facts" will not bring the son back.

  19. Please make an override key so that if the pilot or flight attendant gets locked out, they can come in still. Prayers for the families and friends of the victims. This is truly sad.
