The thing outside making weird noises was obviously a cat. So far, at night, I've heard:
an autotuned meow
an extremely slow hiss
a groaning sound
a weird squeak (although this one could have been a fox)
fast paced whispering along with a normal cat noise
a very high pitched sound that is probably too inappropriate to type down
and every time, one of my parents has looked outside and seen cats there.
